different worlds, same problem²
² The distance between what Indonesia's next generation is taught, and what it will take for them to build, lead, and compete.
brilliant on paper, frozen in practice.
Inside the university you meet extraordinary young minds. They read, they argue, they pass. Then too many step into their first real job and freeze — because nothing in their education asked them to practice, only to know.
Academia is not broken. It is incomplete. It builds the foundation and too often stops there, as if a foundation were a house.
strong credentials, almost no reps.
Inside industry you meet the same graduates on the other side of the door. Sharp memories, real potential — and the first years of their careers spent learning things they could have practiced years earlier.
Industry is not innocent either. It complains about the pipeline while investing almost nothing in it.
two rooms. two careers. ONE_CONCERN — how does the next generation get better in practice, not just on paper?
we believe²
² Five things we hold to be true. Everything we build follows from them.
theory and practice are not rivals.
The strongest people we know are fluent in both. The gap between academia and industry is a design flaw, not a law of nature — and design flaws can be fixed.
knowing about ≠ being able to.
A generation of test-passers is not a generation of builders. Every program we run is measured by what participants can do afterward, not what they can recite.
it's a people problem before a policy problem.
A demographic bonus is only a bonus if the generation receiving it is prepared. Otherwise it is just a deadline.
the bridge is built from both sides.
Academics who never touch industry build theory nobody uses. Practitioners who dismiss theory repeat mistakes solved decades ago. We refuse to choose a side.
complaining is not a strategy.
Everyone agrees the gap exists. Almost no one is paid to close it. So we made it our work — through consulting, workshops, and training that treat practice as seriously as knowledge.
We will keep one foot in the lecture hall and one foot in the field — and hold the door open so the next generation can walk between them freely.
